范蠡（はんれい）
中国を代表する歴史大ロマン「三国志」の事実上の主人公：蜀の諸葛亮公明は実にカッコいい人だ。行動の一挙一投足が計算され尽くされた感がある。同じく軍師の越の范蠡が実に泥臭いのと対照的だ。
さて、諸葛孔明は占術、特に世界最高の占術：奇門遁甲の熟練者だった。この人、本職はなんなのだろう。なにをやってもやっていける。でも、私は彼が単なる占い師に過ぎないと思う。彼が時局を読むのが得意であっても、結局軍事的・政治的には失敗したのは、彼が本質的に無責任な占い師だったからである。泥臭い范蠡は逆に目的をすべて成し遂げ、引退してからも越を離れ大富豪になった。范蠡は軍人に徹した。人生において、模範とされるべきは冷徹な范蠡なのである。
三国志は悪書である。かっこばかりつけていた諸葛孔明は、中国を人口大減少のカオスに叩き込んだ。そんな名誉欲ばかりの諸葛孔明は、非難されこそすれ、賞賛されるべきではない。范蠡こそが、中国最大の英雄である。

Fan Li
The de facto protagonist of the great historical romance "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" representing China: Zhuge Liang of Shu is a really cool guy. His every move seems to be calculated. He is in contrast to Fan Li of Yue, who is also a military strategist and is really down-to-earth.
Now, Zhuge Liang was an expert in divination, especially the world's best divination: Qimen Dunjia. I wonder what his real job is. He can do anything. But I think he is just a fortune teller. Even though he was good at reading the current situation, he ultimately failed militarily and politically because he was essentially an irresponsible fortune teller. On the other hand, the down-to-earth Fan Li achieved all his goals, and even after retiring, he left Yue and became a very wealthy man. Fan Li was dedicated to being a soldier. In life, the cold-hearted Fan Li should be the model.
The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a bad book. Zhuge Liang, who only tried to look cool, plunged China into chaos with a massive population decline. Zhuge Liang, who only wanted fame, should be criticized, not praised. Fan Li is China's greatest hero.
