D.トランプが、例の連邦議会襲撃事件についての、自らの関与について、「大統領としての職務中の行為は免責される」と主張して、彼が共和党系判事を３人ねじ込んで６：３になった連邦最高裁で、それを是認する判決がでた。どんな非合法な活動をやっても刑事責任を問われないというとんでもないものだった。これはアメリカ大統領にほぼ無限のフリーハンドを与え、超人独裁者の地位を与えるに等しきものだった。
こんな事実もある。FRBがなかなかインフレを克服できず、政策金利を高く設定していたため、景気がなかなか上向かない。そこで、D.トランプはFRB議長に、自分が取って代わるような発言をした。これについて識者は「不動産屋の能力と、金利管理の能力は、おのずと違う。それは不可能だろう」とコメントした。当然である。注意したいのは、D.トランプUSAの全ての権力を自分の手中に収めたいと思っている節があることだ。彼は、あの程度の貧しい能力で万能の独裁者になりたいのだ。
PS 以上の記述は、２０２４年のアメリカ大統領選挙前に書いたものだが、トランプは今予想通りの行動をしているようだ。

D. Trump has claimed that he is immune from liability for his actions in the course of his duties as president in the recent Capitol attack. the Supreme Court, which he managed to squeeze three Republican judges into a 6:3 vote, upheld his claim. This outrageous decision would not hold him criminally liable for any illegal activity. This was equivalent to giving the American president an almost unlimited free hand and the status of a superhuman dictator.
There is also this fact. The FRB has been unable to overcome inflation and has set the policy interest rate high, so the economy has not been able to improve. Therefore, D. Trump told the FRB chairman that he would take over. An expert commented on this, saying, "The ability of a real estate agent and the ability to manage interest rates are naturally different. That will be impossible." Of course. What should be noted is that there is a hint that D. Trump wants to take all the power of the USA into his own hands. He wants to become an all-powerful dictator with his meager abilities.
PS The above was written before the 2024 US presidential election, but Trump now appears to behave as expected.
