ラピダスは必ず失敗する（エッセイ）

半導体市場を牛耳っていた日本。それは昔の栄光だ。今では世界の主流から取り残されて、もはや世界のトップに踊り出すことは不可能で、むしろ日本はほかの工業分野に活路を見出すべきだろう。

しかし往生際の悪い日本の経済産業省は、数兆円の税金をつぎ込んでラピダスという工場を作ろうとしている。この役所、エルピーダメモリ、ルネサスエレクトロニクスという、官主導で補助金じゃぶじゃぶの企業を仕掛け、全て失敗している。無能な役所だ。ラピダスでその失敗がないと言えようか？

またラピダスの目的がはっきりしない。世界のトレンドの２ナノ半導体を作って日本企業の需要を満たすというが、世界の企業にとって２ナノは手段に過ぎない。ラピダスでは製造が目的になっている。これでは世界に伍せない。

立地条件も悪い。電源が豊富でない北海道に工場を作ってどうするのか？九州に台湾企業が進出するなら、それとのコラボを考えるべきなのではないか？官主体で、民間企業はほとんど出資していないこのエンタープライズ、国民の税金をドブに捨てることになるのは、火を見るよりも明らかだ。役所が頑張ると、碌なことはない。失敗することは確定しているが、借金の穴埋めをするのは、当然国民だと考えているのだろう、え、武藤容二・現経産大臣？

Lapidus is bound to fail (Essay)

Japan once dominated the semiconductor market. That was a glorious past. Now it has been left behind by the global mainstream and it is no longer possible for Japan to take the lead in the world. Instead, Japan should explore alternative paths in other industrial sectors.

However, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, which refuses to give up, is trying to build a factory called Lapidus by pouring trillions of yen of tax money. This government office has established companies that are subsidized by the government, such as Elpida Memory and Renesas Electronics, and all of them have failed. What an incompetent government office. Can we say that Lapidus will not fail like that?

Lapidus's purpose is also unclear. They claim to be developing 2-nano semiconductors, which is a global trend, to meet the demand of Japanese companies. However, for companies around the world, 2-nano is just a means to an end. At Lapidus, manufacturing is the goal. This will not be enough to compete with the world.

The location is also poor. What is the point of building a factory in Hokkaido, where there is no abundant power source? If Taiwanese company: TSMC is expanding into Kyushu, shouldn't they consider collaborating with them? This enterprise is led by the government, with little investment from private companies, and it will end up throwing taxpayers' money down the drain. When the government tries too hard, nothing good comes of it. It is certain to fail, but he probably thinks that it is natural for the people to have to fill the debt hole, huh, Muto Yoji, the current Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry?
