Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is not even a politician (Essay)
Shigeru Ishiba (Japan’s Prime minister)
Shigeru Ishiba broke several promises he made before becoming president of the LDP, including the House of Representatives election. When asked about this betrayal, Shigeru Ishiba brazenly stated, "I don't keep promises. The LDP has never kept promises either." There has never been a case before where a Japanese politician has publicly declared that he would not keep his promises (even if he thought so in his heart). Shigeru Ishiba has publicly declared that he and the LDP are liars.
Also, when asked if he had no intention of seriously addressing the issue of declining birthrates, he said, "By the time children born now have the right to vote, I will no longer be a politician, and it will be meaningless to implement policies to address the declining birthrate issue." He defined himself as a politician who does not care about the country's future.
As stated above, Shigeru Ishiba is a flawed politician. He does not even have the qualifications to be a politician. I have no choice but to say that having such a person as the prime minister of Japan is a disaster for Japan. This man advocated a "fun country" on par with the big slogans of "strong country" and "rich country" that have been used since the Meiji era. Since the subject is often unclear in Japanese, when translated, Shigeru Ishiba's true intention is to create a country where "the rulers, such as Shigeru Ishiba, are having fun and the people are living in hell."
